Warren grills Fed nominee Warsh on Epstein ties
The senator questioned the Fed chair nominee over his interactions with Epstein, saying its essential that Congress and the public fully understand the extent of any connection between the two.
Dive Brief:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, is probing Kevin Warsh, the nominee to serve as the next chair of the Federal Reserve, on his ties to late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In a Wednesday letter, the Senate Banking Committees ranking member cited reports Warshs name twice appears in Epstein-related files released by the Justice Department in January. As the Senate considers your nomination to serve as Chair of the Fed, it is essential that Congress and the public fully understand the extent of any interactions or relationship you had with Jeffrey Epstein, Warren wrote.
Warren queried Warsh on whether he attended parties Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell held on certain dates, the extent of Warshs interactions with the two at those events, and any other interactions or communication Warsh had with either Epstein or Maxwell not referenced in emails.

Donald Trump said anybody who disagrees with him will never be Fed Chairman, she said when Warsh was nominated. Warsh who cared more about helping Wall Street after the 2008 crash than millions of unemployed Americans has apparently passed the loyalty test.
