Here's The Full, Extremist-To-Moderate Spectrum Of The 100,000 Syrian Rebels

Who are the approximately 100,000 rebels fighting to topple Syrian President Bashar al Assad? Assad claims that “80 to 90% of those (the Syrian government is) fighting belong to al Qaeda." U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry claims that 15% to 25% of the opposition is "bad guys" who belong to an extremist groups. Neither is accurate.

So a jihadist is an insurgent or a militant in Iraq. We don't like them. That same person crosses the border into Syria and becomes a rebel. Why is that? Rebel sounds much nicer than insurgent, don't you think?

And yes, funny how when they're doing our dirty work they're a-ok, and when they're not we need to go kill some unrelated civs.
