‘Jew, France is Not Yours’ Chant Anti-Government Demonstrators in Paris

A chilling new video clip recorded yesterday captures the reality of rising anti-Semitism in France. In it, a group of anti-government demonstrators march through Paris, singing the French national anthem and chanting “Juif, la France n’est pas a toi” (“Jew, France is not yours”)–all on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

Perhaps the most disturbing quality of the video is its vantage point–peering out a window onto the streets of Paris. The implication of the image is as disturbing as it is mundane. Today, in the capital of a European Union member state, one can look out the window and see demonstrators march proudly down the street while shouting anti-Semitic slogans. (A minority of viewers, in an attempt to dispute the chant’s prejudice, have claimed that the protesters are not denouncing “Juif,” but rather “CRIF,” which is the acronym for the Representative Council of the French Jewish Institutions, as though this ameliorates the problem.)

Sadly, such an event is far from an isolated incident. As we’ve reported previously, the European Union’s own Agency for Fundamental Rights found that 40 percent of French Jews are afraid to publicly identify as Jewish, while 56 percent have heard someone say “the Jews have too much power” in the last 12 months. And of course, the country is the home of the increasingly prevalent reverse-Nazi salute, the Quenelle, which was popularized by the anti-Semitic French comedian Dieudonné, and became a global media sensation after it was performed by French soccer player Nicolas Anelka. (Yesterday’s demonstrators were also photographed by the press making the gesture.)

Juif: casse-toi, la France n'est pas à toi!
Jew: Get out, France is not for you!

Juif! Juif! Juif! Juif!
Jew! Jew! Jew! Jew!

Juif, Licra: on n'en veut pas!
Jew, LICRA*, you are not wanted!

Juif, Hors de France!
Jews out of France!

Faurisson a raison! Chambres à Gaz c'est du bifon.
Faurisson** is right! The gas chambers are bogus.

Juif! Juif! Juif!
Jew! Jew! Jew!

Looks like Europe's having a bad attack of amnesia. Thought they'd learned it was an insane idea to go after different groups in their society and let things go to hell. Of course, we don't have any room to talk - do we?

We've got homegrown anti-semitism. Infowars, the Patriot Movement, and all of that. Jones with his annual USS Liberty hatefest about Israel, the Jewish bankster cabal, and all that.

There is anti-emigrant sentiment in nations due to competition for living space, jobs. There is economic austerity, and it sucks. Do they really still believe that Jews 'run the world' and all of that?

The Jews in France and other European nations are not even immigrants, so this goes deeper. They have been there for many centuries. This is bogus, what is being done there.

Sometimes I think we are worse with the reichwing terrorism, but I guess not. I don't know what the response to this is going to be, and don't buy them saying that what they are saying isn't anti-Jew when they do that salute.

It seemed some actually said 'Sieg heil' at the same time. Makes it pretty damn obvious.

There are certainly some foul things afoot across the pond. The former bloc nations are the worst, then there is Poland and Greece, both countries were ravaged by the Nazis. In the mind of some of the Europeans, the Jews are the reason for WWII. It would take several pages to explain the "logic" behind it, but that is the general feeling. It is why anti-Semitic shit like this happens when there are protest movements against the government (age old, Jews run the government).

You are also correct about the homegrown anti-Semitism, along with your examples are the more recent "gaffes" by politicians in regards to Jews. It is also interesting to watch people "defend" anti-Semitism as 'justifiable.'

Of course, France is also home to the Jew-hater who created the "quenelle". It is supposedly just an anti-establishment salute.

This is a technique that has been used over and over. I'm just surprised that the people of Europe (sure it's a minority) are being taken in with the new anti-semiticism. I've read this stuff, it's what Tim Wise and others have spoken of:

http://www.timwise.org/2012/01/of-broken-clocks-presidential-candidates-and-the-confusion-of-certain-white-liberals/

Now it's wrapped in the Ayn Rand, teabagger and libertarian brand as some new thing. But look who set them in action - the Koch family who made their first millions with Stalin and who adored Mussolini:

Perhaps there wiil always be some with hot tempers and without education who have always been taken in, willingly. The Jews appear to be the new and the old shiny that is dangled for the wolves to feed on.

They've got different dog whistles, the Bilderbergers or Rothchilds or AIPAC or whatever name they pick, but it ends up at the same place, the Protocols.

It always does. And the recipients of this esoteric knowledge call all the rest who don't jump into their world view with all fours, 'sheeple.' They've fallen for one of the oldest tricks in the book. Just looking for the strand to tie their own miseries upon, but never themselves.

At their most creative, they claim that Jews are not human, they are from another planet, thus they hate us all. This stuff gets really detailed. It's pretty amazing bullshit and it seems to justify any horror they wish to inflict.

Who are they avoiding looking at, which many Americans learned in the FDR era, to not be taken in by now? Likely the same actors, under a different name. Did you see the technique in this old film posted here?

I read something about things going in cycles. That we are going to go through social changes, like the 1930s and the Great Depression. Which I might add, the current crop of anti-semitics blame on the Jews of the upper or banker class. I don't know any of those.

They even try to get some distance from the charges by saying it's the normal or poor Jews are not the problem. They say it's the Zionists, and on and on.

But to the person on the street, it doesn't read any different, does it?

2. Sometimes I think we're going to start seeing marches against the gays here

in the U.S. The RW Christians are driving themselves insane over that issue and some others, I'm concerned about how much worse it will get if our economy falls apart, and I can easily see that happening. In fact, I think it's inevitable, at least the part about the economy. When hard times come, people usually seem to start blaming the people in society that they don't like. They blame everyone besides the people who are responsible for the mess. It's angering and sickening at the same time. When the id gets in control, humans are ugly creatures.

But, it is more likely it would be against "dirty furniners! Taking all the good 'Murkian jobs!" When it comes to economic issues in this country, two groups get the short end of the stick...immigrants and Jews. Once a frenzy is whipped up, usually gays and African-Americans get pulled into it. Someone did a paper/article on this way on back, like when Bush the Elder was in office. If I find it, I'll have to post it. It talks about the scapegoating of particular groups for particular crises.

I'm reminded of that all the time when I have conversations with people. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that people are doomed to forget their history; at least they're doomed to be unable to learn from it. That is humanity's curse.

Most of them have their toboggans (hats) on so you can't see their shaved heads. They are like the KKK in this country. And yes, they are anti-semites. They exist in Germany too. Let's call this display what it is: a bigot parade.

What the fuck....what a bunch of fucking assholes!

I'm currently reading Brave Genius, about Albert Camus and Jacques Monod and their participation in the resistance. The first section of the book is about France's experience in WWII. It's disgusting to read about Laval and Petain and the Vichy government. Those traitorous Vichy assholes sound just like these people. I'm amazed they don't get torn limb from limb by real Frenchmen.

Vive La France!

9. France has an ugly & unresolved issue with Jews.

Nazi Germany demanded that the Vichy government arrest all foreign-born Jewish men. . . . The French Gendarmes not only turned in the men, but they also hunted down the women & children like dogs. . . . Once that was done, they then started chasing after French-born Jews. . .

One often thinks of the transit camp, Drancy, from which Jews were deported to Auschwitz.

HOWEVER. . . . France was also host to another notorious transit camp, "Gurs", in Southern France, to which the FIRST Jews to be deported from Germany in 1940 were sent. . . 1940 PRECEDED all deportations from ANY country, and France was only too happy to accommodate.

14. Interesting question. . .

I just finished "Hitler's Willing Executioners--Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust"--a dissertation from Harvard that was published. . .

It doesn't excuse the Poles, but it DOES state that Poles have been implicated in far more atrocities than they deserve. The nationalities that were really damned were Ukrainians, Lithuanians, and Latvians who actively participated in shooting rampages that killed MILLIONS--far more than had been documented, as most people think of death camps as being the prime locations for these murders. . . .

A horrifying read, but was worth it.
