‘Right-to-work’ is actually just a right to freeload

Wowsa! Pulling no punches here.

‘Right-to-work’ is actually just a right to freeload
By Terry Smith
http://www.athensnews.com/ohio/article-42412-lsright-to-workrs-is-actually-just-a-right-to-freeload.html

(excerpt)
This is perfectly reasonable and perfectly American - the expectation that someone who receives a benefit must pay for that benefit in one way or another.

And the logical outcome of allowing non-union employees to skip union fees while still enjoying the benefits of the union, would be that nobody would want to join the union. Why join if you can receive the same benefits without paying dues?

This stunning logic exposes the ulterior motive of conservatives who push right-to-work laws. They favor business and corporations over workers and worker rights. They despise unions, and what better way to undermine unions and their members than to remove any incentive to join a union?...

...I do find it troubling that Republicans such as Lantz can equate Americanism with the freedom to be a free-loader, to receive benefits for services rendered without paying for them. Maybe they should also advocate right-to-steal or right-to-embezzle laws. Isn't your freedom compromised any time you're asked to pay for something of value?

Just how did they convince millions of American workers that this was a good idea?

You don't have to join the union, but if you work for a company whose workers are represented by a union you do have to pay that portion of the union dues which represents the cost of union representation with the employer. That amount is less than full union dues, but not dramatically so, and it means that you are not contributing to the union's political activity, such as campaign contributions made by the union.

Soon the “Right to Work” will be put into the correct context. When that happens it will be clear how the business social structure will evolve in America.

As it is now the there are many in the business community revealing their demigod heritage. That is the success of the business ownership and shareholders is what is important regardless of the employee or social structure the business is as an integral part of commerce and society.

Soon examples of the electric and communication utilities and railroad systems will be revealed as premier abusers of eminent domain. Or worse they are evolving into basic parasites on the social business structure.

With that said we all should realize that investments from foreign entities with greed influence does result in a business consciousness that impresses infidelity, dissonance, Wahhabism , or fascism in corporate operations, and what is becoming common “Walmart Sense” a total disrespect for a living wage.

Union is by its very nature is structured as part of the First and Fourth Amendment of the constitution. We the people have a right to assemble peacefully. We the People have a right to list our grievences and submit them to the government. We the People have a right to freedom of speech, And of course affirmation.

When you think about that do our political people actually make legislation for the people by the people and of the people? No. We now know the media is and has been complicit in a century of deception that has stifled the American middle class. That communications media licensed for the responsibility in supporting our Constitution has abused it with arrogance and defiance via money and greed.
