.... what she knows are the sources of her wealth. Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and
Lehmann Brothers are all in her pedigree in one form or an another she also has
spent time in front of TV camera's pushing "wealth management" and protecting
the very rich way of life.

I never knew who she was until her awful "occupy wall street" segment on CNN
when I saw her act making fun of some young man and then trying to say that the
occupy movement was just the result of smoking dope.

so-called Liberal Media. This just confirms that CNN stands for Conservative News Network. I remember how MSNBC got rid of Phil Donahue when he opposed Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq in 2003 despite the fact that Donahue's ratings were going up at the time.

Apparently, there have been 12,000 applicants for 104 jobs and among those have been seasoned and experienced journalists. Soledad would do well to look into them.

I myself tune into Al Jazeera once a day on FSTV or Link TV. They put CNN to shame for journalism. As much as I don't always like foreigners running things in the USA, since we haven't a decent TV media outlet here anymore, I look forward to them shaming our media by showing them what a 24 hour news station with journalistic standards looks like.

So the Big Shots at CNN are gonna replace you with Erin (yuck!)...Time for you to shine. Where? Cable. You can do it and then those Big Shots at CNN will be stuck with Erin and you'll be great, maybe even back on a popular slot on a popular network. But, you'll be able to smile when you look at the mirror and when you close your eyes at night. Good on ya!

People are tired of the propaganda. Soledad was one of the very few on that network that actually knew what she was talking about, and refused to let guests get away with lies.

I rarely watch CNN any more, but have caught her morning show a few times while traveling. Couldn't stand it when she was with Miles O'Brien a few years back on CNN, he used to let right wingers get away with whatever lie they wanted to tell. I figured Soledad was a right winger as well, but was pleasantly surprised to see she actually had some integrity.

Why didn't CNN's international arm air its own documentary on Bahrain's Arab Spring repression?

A former CNN correspondent defies threats from her former employer to speak out about self-censorship at the network

In late March 2011, as the Arab Spring was spreading, CNN sent a four-person crew to Bahrain to produce a one-hour documentary on the use of internet technologies and social media by democracy activists in the region. Featuring on-air investigative correspondent Amber Lyon, the CNN team had a very eventful eight-day stay in that small, US-backed kingdom.

By the time the CNN crew arrived, many of the sources who had agreed to speak to them were either in hiding or had disappeared. Regime opponents whom they interviewed suffered recriminations, as did ordinary citizens who worked with them as fixers. Leading human rights activist Nabeel Rajab was charged with crimes shortly after speaking to the CNN team. A doctor who gave the crew a tour of his village and arranged meetings with government opponents, Saeed Ayyad, had his house burned to the ground shortly after. Their local fixer was fired ten days after working with them.

The CNN crew itself was violently detained by regime agents in front of Rajab's house. As they described it after returning to the US, "20 heavily-armed men", whose faces were "covered with black ski masks", "jumped from military vehicles", and then "pointed machine guns at" the journalists, forcing them to the ground. The regime's security forces seized their cameras and deleted their photos and video footage, and then detained and interrogated them for the next six hours.

Lyon's experience both shocked and emboldened her. The morning after her detention, newspapers in Bahrain prominently featured articles about the incident containing what she said were "outright fabrications" from the government. "It made clear just how willing the regime is to lie," she told me in a phone interview last week.
