14. I doubt Reagan would have been elected
Sat Mar 23, 2013, 11:44 PM
Mar 2013

had the internet been in place in 1980.

His whole "there you go again" comment during the debate--which the MSM (including George Will, who was a behind the scenes media advisor to Reagan) just LOVED--was in response to President Carter saying that Reagan had strongly opposed Medicare when it was passed in 1965, calling it the end of "freedom" in our time.

Well--Reagan DID oppose Medicare, saying it would inevitably lead to a communist takeover of the US.

Carter fully expected the MSM to call Reagan out on his flat out lie about his position, but of course it didn't.

Had YouTube (not to mention DU) been around, the video of Reagan denouncing Medicare in 1965, coupled with his denial in 1980 that he had ever denounced Medicare, would have gone viral.

Not to mention, the "October surprise" affair would have received far more play, MSM or no MSM.

15. On the election night back in 2000, when Fla was heading to a recount...

I looked at my computer, and I thought: "The internet is our only hope for a better future. All of our institutions, the mainstream media, our elections process, our courts, the Fed, etc. were all conspiring to get this idiot elected, and average Americans have no idea of what's coming to them. Only the internet can get the truth out."

I remember thinking exactly that, and damn it if I wasn't right.

7. to be fair, I don't think Bashir is really addressing O'Reilly's point--

what the specific crime that Jesus was punished by the Romans for. In other words, not the biblical meaning of Jesus's crucifixion.

But as usual, O'Reilly is totally wrong-- his arrest had nothing to do with taxes:

"In the narrative of the four canonical gospels after the betrayal and arrest of Jesus, he is taken to the Sanhedrin, a Jewish judicial body.[210] Jesus is tried by the Sanhedrin, mocked and beaten and is condemned for making claims of being the Son of God.[209][211][212] He is then taken to Pontius Pilate, and the Jewish elders ask Pilate to judge and condemn Jesus—accusing him of claiming to be the King of the Jews.[212] After questioning, with few replies provided by Jesus, Pilate publicly declares that he finds Jesus innocent, but the crowd insists on punishment. Pilate then orders Jesus' crucifixion"

8. The Jews expecting money at the alter, wanted the newly established church of Christ to be stopped.

And they wanted the miracle making of Christ to be stopped. Christ had thrown the Money Changers out of the Jewish Temple a short time earlier. Christ was for the People.

The Progressive Budget is for the People.

Fox People are for the Money Changers. I believe that O Really is expecting his 40 pieces of Silver.

The Caucus of Christ, the Apostles and Disciples, kept the church of Christ, in Jerusalem, going by collecting money during the Great Commission. I am hoping that everyone can do a quick search on, The Great Commission.

10. thanks-- but still, not really about taxes

and further, even if it was about taxes, ultimately, the crucifixion was a good thing-- so wouldn't that make taxes good, too?

12. Taxes were levied on everybody under that Roman Governor. As the Governor gave no tax return

to the Christian Church (headed by James), then Christ could not have died for taxes. So I am disagreeing with O Really and giving my support for the Original Post.

16. As we read in church today..
Sun Mar 24, 2013, 06:44 PM

according to Luke... Pontius Pilate didn't find Jesus guilty of anything,
but the Jewish authorities, thru the Sandhedrin, saw Jesus as a threat.
And wanted him out of the way. Pilate went along with the death sentence
because he didnt' want another rebellion on his hand.

9. So its Fox News new agenda
Sat Mar 23, 2013, 01:10 PM

to bring about a Christian Theocracy and dump Democracy? There sure seem like a lot of people who want that, these days. (At least among those who watch Fox News, Religiously.)

11. Why have the religious People left the Caucus of Christ and moved to the Money Changers?
Sat Mar 23, 2013, 02:17 PM

The Money Changers still want every available dime from the People: even the People's Social Security Insurance Trust Fund. Today's Church has abandoned the Great Commission and have moved according to and over to the Money Men of the Market.
