Matthews thinks is a great country where they let a moron have their own talk show to talk about things they don't know about on a daily basis.

(43,870 posts)... is that you can tell he's left of center but he does what the top brass at MSNBC tells him to - and that means going from a pseudo-conservative to a pseudo-liberal when the winds changed direction on that network.

(8,322 posts)Here he is talking about Phil Griffin...
He works us one-on-one, says Chris Matthews. Youre never going to see Phil having a big group together. The two have the occasional lunch or dinner, and pressed for personal details, Matthews recalled admiring Griffins dancing ability at a mutual friends wedding. Professionally, Matthews says he instinctively trusts his boss. You may think Im tougher than that, he says, but inside I basically do what he wants me to do.

It's too simple to call Matthews an egomaniacal douchebag and a lickspittle to his bosses. All he really craves is to be an insider. He wants access to powerful people; not so much money and power for himself. I believe that his only essential persona is blowhard and starfucker. He's just that guy who keeps his great job because he sucks up to the bosses.

Here he's over talking Donahue as if he's on Hardball...
I'll never understand how MSNBC could lose Phil Donahue and Keith Olbermann and keep Tweety...

(1,628 posts)that it would be better if the network just gave him an hour to talk as much as he wants, all by himself. I don't believe there is a more annoying host than Chris Matthews, so I'd probably still change the channel if the network did give him a solo spot.

(10,497 posts)Donahue says that everyone, including Mathews says Shhhhh, don't complain so much they are trying to shut me up, and Mathews says "You thinks so?" Looks like Phil was dead right, just like his show and career after that! Guess who is still on the air proclaiming to be tough!
