getting interested in politics. I loved Gore and thought with prejudice that he blew Buckley away. HOWEVER don't disrespect Wm. F. He was an intellectual GOD compared to today's Republicans. The man deserved some admiration. I doubt he'd touch Paul Ryan or Ted Cruz with the proverbial ten foot pole.

1984 vs. Pat Buchanan, of all people.

He was just about at his peak then. (Vidal, not Buchanan)

The name of the documentary is, I'm sure, taken from a collection of his essays that was published (1992) in his book titled "United States"...not really about the U.S. but about the "the state of" religion, the state of art, prose, the Novel, politics, etc. Thus published together in a book called "United States". Go find a copy and read it. The man is brilliant. Among many other things he foretold the coming banking collapse, about the corruption that caused it in essays written in THE 1960's! Buckley doesn't deserve to carry his luggage.

Hey everyone

I wanted to share with you a new documentary film on Gore Vidal. I think you might really like the film. The film features some of Gore Vidal's last known interviews before his passing.

You can check out the link here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1482232138/gore-vidal-the-united-states-of-amnesia

We are doing a kickstarter campaign for the film. We would love it if you could post something about the film on your website! We are selling Associate Producer credits and we have other great premiums for the campaign to check out on the kickstarter page. We really need to get this project funded so we can bring Gore Vidal and his ideas to a new young generation of fans.

All the best-
