Fox News: Say NO to Reason and Scientific Enlightenment

"Fox News host Steve Doocy asked Penny Nance, CEO of the Christian activist group Concerned Women for America, if she could make any sense out of why Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx would proclaim May 2 as both a "Day of Prayer" and a "Day of Reason."

Fox News guest Penny Nance took to the air to warn us that things like reason, logic, and scientific enlightenment are horrible bad things that caused the holocaust. Except...not at all. So, we should just be ignorant to maintain peace? What about every major advancement in human history- would they have been possible without reason?

Cnek Uygur discusses this unreasonable, illogical nut job.

3. One question for Penny Nance.

Penny, since you advocate for a return to pre-enlightenment thinking and policies, would you like to be clubbed in the head and dragged off for mating purposes or is being sold by your father for a dowry and economic gain preferable for you?

I would also point Penny to the ravings...err, I meant writings...of Paul of Tarsus. He held a fairly dim view of women doing things like speaking for instance and he certainly would not have approved of her deigning to interfere in worship services in any manner, let alone establishing a foundation of Concerned Women.

Without reason and rationality Penny, your life and the lives of billions of other women would be extremely different than what they are - even though we still have a long, long way to go. If she really believes the crap word salad tumbling out of her mouth, I really pity her...but methinks the lady doth protest too much and her REAL beliefs are being suppressed to curry airtime and favor with the idiots at Fox anyway.

They are all hideously ugly to look at and listen to.

Of course I mean ugly on the inside. It just exudes from them. They seem in a constant state of simmering anger and defensiveness.

So where would Fox be without TV and computers which they use on a daily basis.

Like that Co2 is a greenhouse gas and helps control the planet's temperature, or that smacking kids around is bad for their health, or that there is ONE human race....and so many other wonderful facts of life.

Now, I'm sure she could provide facts were she not restrained by the tyranny of time on television.

So, Ms. Nance, a little challenge. I find your overall thesis counterintuitive. so, in order to persuade me, you will have to provide me with facts and logic to support your thesis that reason and the enlightenment are responsible for the evils of our times.

Simply put, I request that you please make your case in a rational argument. I dare you.
