Jiffy Lube caught YET AGAIN !!! (owned by Shell Oil)

Watch Jiffy Lube investigation from 7 years ago (above) for history on this company in action & then take a look at what is going on CURRENTLY at the link below.

http://www.nbclosangeles.com/investigations/series/auto-shop-investigation/Auto-Shop-Investigation-206990861.html

NBC4 just completed this review of some of Jiffy Lube' operations and it looks like Shell Oil hasn't cleaned up shop like they said they would. 7 of the 11 stations tested tried to sell services the car did not need according to former investigator from California Bureau of Automotive Repair.

BUYER BEWARE...

*note: YouTube video give you the background on the problems with JiffyLube, and the current video (text-link above, at NBC Los Angeles) tells you what continues to happen even now.

cars are designed that makes getting to the various parts very difficult. Either there's a panel that has to be taken off or you have to use some specialized tool or you're going to rip your hands on some bolt.

Yes, it does help to develop a relationship with a smaller mom-and-pop shop. Avoid any of the big chains.

/Pretty much a truism for almost anything nowadays.

I used them in years past, and am so sure this is why my car died one day.. Had I known about this, I would have gone to see a lawyer.

and they helped keep my 19-year-old jeep running for its last 6 years. But I went to the same shop in SM repeatedly, and after a while, they stopped suggesting "needed extras," although I did probably pay for a "radiator flush" or two I didn't need.

I still take my car to the dealership. I know that they're responsible for whatever they do to my car and they remember me - and my car.
