I'm always looking for current talks by Chris Hedges.

His talks are pretty much variations on the same theme, but his ideas do bear repeating.

I am using Days of Destruction with my high school students because it is so powerful. I know they will have issues with the vocabulary so I am in the process of typing up a list for each chapter starting with the introduction which I just finished.

We did a lesson on the Sand Creek Massacre so I am following up with Hedges and Sacco's chapter on Pine Ridge.

An interesting anecdote: I have used the website Donor's Choose to successfully obtain all kinds of books sets for my classroom, everything from the Holocaust to other books and novel sets but I have put this book up twice and have failed to get it funded. Not one donation for even five bucks. We really do live in a corporatized world. I have to either have my students by it for extra credit or buy it myself which is tough lately. Because it is a book, it doesn't fall under the fair use policy.

I never tire of hearing Hedges speak.
