To the contrary, Mr. President. They are very focussed. They are exquisitely focussed on impeding and obstructing everything you want to accomplish.

The sooner you put aside your naïveté and embrace the horror -- to quote Steve Buscemi in Armageddon -- that the GOP will never help you, the sooner you'll be able to maybe fight the political fight that the circumstances dictate should be fought.

There's no third way here, Mr. President. Getting along with people who think you are an illegitimate Muslim Kenyan (something over 50%), or the anti-Christ (20-some percent or more), isn't going to do it.

The country needs you to take them on. NOW!

You seem to be weak in your resolve to do this.

For this reason, I will not support another presidential candidate who doesn't have substantial political experience. It's not about ideology or partisan issues. It's about being able to use political leverage effectively. Mr. President, you've done a poor job of that, in my humble opinion. The 2010 election should have taught you something. Apparently, it hasn't.

growing it, as the OP states. The title cut off at that point makes it seem they aren't focused at all but must take whole statement into account.

thereby giving the GOP enough rope to hang themselves.
President Obama muffled the negative rhetoric throughout his campaign, largely, until the last desperate moments. He realizes the logic of his message, simply staying firm on that basis may work again.
Yes, of coooooourse, many GOP faithful don't listen to a word he says. Tea partiers see him with a big clown nose and funny shoes the way we saw GWB through our logic circuits. No amount of logic will make Tea party advocates see the blinders they have on are turned to block visibility of the road directly ahead of them. They still cannot see how tough an obstacle GWB admin and GOP ripoffs placed directly in the path to economic recovery for any successor to overcome, preferring instead to pretend no recovery exists and it's all this "kenyan muslim socialist's" fault.
I cringed at nearly every act of tomfoolery GWB perpetrated upon the American public. I might have made some off color comments and maybe nearly all of us saw the same clown nose and funny shoes on him. But when it came down to it, we respected him as the elected commander in chief. Our side did not attempt to blackmail, sabotage, burn and pillage the entire country's leadership because we didn't agree with his policy decisions. He was the decider, much as that statement still makes me cringe with it's in-eloquence.
Personally, as I await the 2014 implementation of ACA's requirement that someone must be able to insure me despite my medical history, as I have been rejected by all companies I have applied for, I once again cringe and attempt to keep my ire in check at the GOP's sabotage attempts.
As for the democratic leaders not having a backbone in caving in repeatedly to the GOP's childish demands, just as they did in rejecting any public coverage option, my question to my fellow progressives is this:
My brain is too injured and puny to figure this out, literally. What, specifically, would you have them do differently to counter this obstinance?
