It's certainly a vicious cycle but also, to some extent at least, an artificially created condition.

Bryce Covert's opening statement:
"So, a lot of people assume that people are in poverty because they make poor decisions. There is actually a lot of research that shows that it goes the other way. The people make poor decisions because they are in poverty".
She then goes on to explain a few other interesting facts found within this study about the effects of poverty.

After all, no other developed nation has anywhere near the level (in proportion or intensity) of poverty we do.

So many Americans falsely think they are immune to poverty because, y'know, they make the "right" choices...these tens of millions need to see that the causation is the reverse...bad choices often come from poverty...and that the stress and overload is often worse than a returning soldier from a war. This is HEAVY, no?
