Goddamn Libertarians are so far from understanding economic policy at all, they just sound like 5th graders trying to blather their way though a school book report for a book they never read at all, during summer vacation.
I listened to that whole train wreck looking for something that might approach a good point, and got nothing. Not a thing.
He didn't even bring up SS's one major flaw; predators in Congress. We've borrowed nearly 3 trillion from it, and we need to pay it back. Remember Al Gore's 'social security lockbox' platform plank? That was just as serious as climate change. It's a real thing. We've raided the shit out of social security in intragovernmental borrowing. For shit like wars, and tanks, and planes and bomb development programs. Shit we wanted, but didn't want to show up on the public debt. So republicans mostly, but to a degree, both parties borrowed from SS.
But the solution to that one fundamental flaw is not to torpedo social security. It's AL Gore's goddamn lock box. That would fix the problem. Done and Done.
We lost SO much more than just the wars in the middle east when Bush took the white house.
