(24,329 posts)I did get pulled over about 12 years ago by an officer in Highland, Indiana who was pretty polite and I did appreciate his courtesy.
I would suggest if you get pulled over by an officer who is courteous that you write a letter mentioning it, like complaints, good things should also go in their files so that others on the force learn from their positive example

(10,495 posts)There are good, bad, and everything in between. Some professions attract certain types of people in higher percentages, but there are good people everywhere.
If everyone treated each other with respect and courtesy, look out! Too bad we're in no danger of getting there at this point.

Reminds me of a friend who writes complimentary notes on restaurant server's checks. Always ends them with "Give him/her a raise!"
