Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI) expressed her concern on MSNBC on Wednesday about the potential implications for the country if the Supreme Court finds in favor of a variety of businesses, including Hobby Lobby, which has challenged the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Acts contraception mandate. Moore attacked the chain for what she characterized as an effort to impose a state religion on everybody.
I am very confident that the Supreme Court will rule on the side of women, Moore told MSNBC anchor Richard Lui.
She added that the fact that the companies bringing the case, including Hobby Lobby, says it all.
Motherhood is not a hobby, Moore declared. Womens health is not some arts and craft. She added that she does not believe these companies should decide whether or not Im going to be a mother.

Hell, even Republican women use birth control, and some the morning after pill.

(2,145 posts)years now over this very issue. When they started talking about their religious beliefs and that they should not have to fund birth control for employees, who works for hobbylobby, women. The first amendment does not give anyone the right to impose their religious beliefs on others, whether they are employees or customers.
I do appreciate the businesses that feel they must express their religious nutjobbery at all times. It helps me decide with whom NOT to do business.

(14,087 posts)Boycotts hurt Papa Johns and when they started with the "we're going to cancel our employee's health insurance" crap, and I hope Hobby Lobby gets the same treatment.
Their pursuit of this court case makes me really sick. I'm worried that the right wing Supreme Court might make their religious beliefs the law of the land, like Citizens United did.
I'm getting really scared of this country.
