1. thanks so much for posting this excellent interview

you're probably right, but i'm somewhat optimistic because the public debate is actually raging now, along with a myriad of news paper editorials taking to task the ptb (including hi tech industries) naming names, underscoring the importance of restoration of privacy rights, and pointing to the economic impact this will have. That's why that meeting took place yesterday. my local paper op ed reamed the hi tech leadership's long delay in dealing with this matter.

But I'm not naive. This won't change in any significant way unless... more revelations dictate the desired outcome and subsequent course of action leading to transparency and restoration of privacy from both Government AND business occurs.

2. Any true reading of American history......

...would show this as the inexorable end toward which we've been headed for quite some time. Since 1913 for sure. But warnings from Ike didn't change anything. And full-blown hearings (Church Committee) didn't stop them. So ''discussion'' -- even with other countries' pique over the matter -- doesn't mean they'll stop. Billions have been invested in 5-Eyes and they're going to get their money's worth.

- Nothing short of a revolution will do it. Seriously. These people are nuts.
