Video of LGBTQ Attacks in Russia Difficult to Watch... Which Is Why You Should (SLATE)

This important video was released by Human Rights Watch today, three days before the Olympic opening ceremonies in Sochi, and documents the brutal physical violence and discrimination carried out against the LGBTQ community in Russia by vigilante groups while the government willfully turns a blind eye.

statement from Human Rights Watch:

* Slate: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2014/02/04/hrw_lgbtq_violence_human_rights_watch_releases_disturbing_video_of_violence.html

(there is a warning in the video but 'viewer discretion advised' should be noted here)

______

I'm actually surprised that the Russian authorities that are rounding up and destroying abandoned animals to 'clean up the image' of the Olympics in Sochi aren't using the same teams to round up and destroy humans they find objectionable.

Of course we don't know that they aren't now do we?

Russia has been so tainted by disgusting behavior by authorities that these Olympics will forever be tarnished by being held in that atmosphere of hate, violence and govt corruption.

Putin demonstrates himself to be not only outdated and boorish, but one of the bigger chunks of rotting garbage being swept into the dustbin of history. He's lost all authority and respect by the majority of the world's leadership, at the very moment when the spotlight is shining directly at his administration and country.

Hope he enjoys the 'glow' he had brought on himself and his country.
