Newly Elected President Of Institute of Medicine Is On The Pepsico Board Of Directors

by Larry Husten

Earlier today I reported the news that Victor Dzau, the chancellor for health affairs at Duke University and the CEO of the Duke University Health System, would become the next president of the Institute of Medicine. But I failed to remember that I had written about Dzau several years ago. I think it will be of interest to many observers that Dzau currently serves on the Board of Directors of Pepsico. I’ve asked the IOM for a comment about this.

More.

Jon Rappoports

FACTS:
Find major shareholders of Monsanto and Whole Foods (both publicly traded companies) at http://investors.morningstar.com Among the top ten shareholders at each company are 5 identical investment funds (with proxy vote power):

Vanguard Total Stock Mkt. Index;
SPDR S&P 500;
Vanguard Institutional Index I;
Vanguard 500 Index Inv;
Harbor Capital Appreciation Instl.

Putting Rappaports aside (zany site, in general, and his interpretations of these specific observations), the facts and issues raised remain. Maybe it's just covering all bases by 'hedging.' Maybe not, anyone else queasy?
