How To Screw The NSA

The Young Turks ·Published on Feb 11, 2014

"What would Americans have to do to loosen the National Security Agency's death grip on privacy rights? A group of Maryland lawmakers believe they have a solution: Make it so the NSA's engineers can't use the bathrooms.

That's the intent behind recent legislation proposed by eight GOP representatives in Maryland's House of Delegates: the bill would cut off all "material support, participation or assistance in any form" from the state, its residents, and its businesses to the NSA's Fort Meade headquarters...".* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

- It's great to see some are starting to get the idea. There's no Them without US.
Many are starting to remember that even Goliath was defeated. David didn't try to negotiate with him because he knew he was dealing with a barbarian, a thug who wasn't all that bright and who took pleasure in his dominion over others. He didn't try to match him blow for blow, because he knew that he couldn't. He was outsworded.

Nor did David petition Goliath for mercy and fairer treatment for his people. He told him exactly what he intended and stuck to his slingshot. David knew that everything has a weakness. And Goliath's weakness was his belief in his own greatness, his own superiority, his own righteousness. And once that weak spot was found, David exploited it as he maneuvered into just the right position. And once he was there, he let go the five smooth stones one after the other from his slingshot. And he didn't stop until the giant was brought down.

So he had used another weapon -- his best weapon. His mind. He taunted Goliath telling him that he'd not only end his reign, but that he'd feed him and his whole army's bodies to the carrion-eaters circling above, enraging Goliath further. And while doing so, exposing his flank as he strutted and wailed at this usurper. Demanding his obedience and that he step aside and let him have his way. But he used Goliath's own arrogance against him. Because the arrogant never think they can be defeated, you see?

When you've gotta junkie in your life -- in this case one that's addicted to the power gained from debt enslavement, oil product sales and pollution and the chemical domination/ dependency industry -- it may seem cruel and difficult maybe even impossible, but you have to cut off the supply or there will never be any peace.

And to do that, we've got to start acting like more than this:

Strange bedfellows, no? Share this piece of "getting even and shutting them down" strategy, this needs a lot of support to work. But, I'm strangely hopeful.

They fail to consider the businesses supported by the NSA. I'm sure that many services are required by the facility. Think of the blow to local economy.
