He's a true prankster supreme. I was right that t had to be a mixed breed. Look at it from the front it appears to have some collie, the face/muzzle is really long and narrow, and feet are way too small and the body & legs too thick. and the legs are kind of short for a real wolf. I see them often so it's not hard to tell.

You're Ojibwe? My mom tells me that her dad's mom was half French and half Ojibwe (northern WI)... the rest is German. All her European ancestors came here in the early 1700s.

All of the Native Americans I know out here in the west have a high level of respect for wolves and also call them brothers. I am blessed to hear them sing at night and early mornings sometimes when they are within a couple miles of my cabin. Sometimes I got out and track them. I even have a couple pictures of myself getting "wolf kisses" from a pair of rescued wolves. I love them but I love all the wildlife just as much.
