(36,974 posts)1. The reasons the GOP blocked the bill...
-snip-
Republican senators wanted to lower the amount of spending in the bill. The GOP senators also wanted to include a measure that would have imposed new sanctions against Iran, which President Obama has warned against doing at this time. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked the amendments from being considered.

(53,661 posts)4. They are trying to thwart Obama's attempts to make peace. The loathsome creatures who didn't care
about sending those people off to war while they were making money. Now they're mad Obama won't give them another war to make profits from them, so they want to discard them in the rubbish.
Their treatment of the people they have used and abused is vile and sociopathic. But we knew that didn't we? If they get a majority in the Senate, 'god help us,' we are done.

(12,882 posts)5. I'm a veteran
I'm a veteran who VOLUNTEERED to go into a war zone. I don't even look to the VA for any sort of recompense as I don't really need it. But there are SO MANY Vets who DO need something in return for their service - who were told such would be rendered if and when they asked for it. Now, they're treated like shit. I hope to hell they bother to vote (although they could be forgiven to think it really doesn't matter if they do) and note just WHO it is who wants to deny that which was promised as collateral against their very LIVES.
