1. Los Angeles and other California cities no longer permit grocery stores to use the flimsy

plastic bags at the check-out counter. We carry our own heavy plastic or canvas or other fabric bags. Thus far, most customers are happy to comply with that rule. Californians in general care about the environment. Our city council in Los Angeles just barred fracking in our city.
