Wow what a scam. Glad I heard this info. Almost applied to one of these, but now I'm glad I didn't.

That's why I turn off the radio every time there's a University of Phoenix commercial.

Essentially before you join a college, just get on the record that they're what's called "Accredited."

the football coaches:

1. Nick Saban Alabama $5,545,852
2. Mack Brown Texas $5,453,750
3. Bret Bielema Arkansas $5,158,863
4. Butch Jones Tennessee $4,860,000
5. Bob Stoops Oklahoma $4,773,167
6. Urban Meyer Ohio State $4,608,000
7. Les Miles LSU $4,459,363
8. Brady Hoke Michigan $4,154,000
9. Kirk Ferentz Iowa $3,985,000
10. Charlie Strong Louisville $3,738,500

and that's just the top ten. Guess who else makes a boatload of money off students?

Median salary for Chancellors of public universities: $421,000 (2011)

So doing the math...those Chancellors are only helping your education and job prospects 1/10th as much as the football coaches.

College is archaic. The 1950s are over. Some degrees are worth paying for, many are not. Buyer beware.

Thankfully, I went to a school that was more into academics than sports. Still, I find it sickening that some of our most distinguished professors make barely $100,000/year and these coaches make well over a million. Since NCAA football has become the NFL minor leagues- perhaps the NFL would like to pay for some of these expenses?
