An attempt by the Danish parliament to get younger citizens to vote in the upcoming European Parliament elections went awry after the cartoon ad it put out was deemed violent and sexist.

The Danish parliament pulled the controversial ad just one day after it went live from its YouTube channel.

“Many, whose views I deeply respect, found the EU Information Centre’s cartoon to be much more damaging and offensive than it was intended to be and felt it talked down to young people,” parliament chairman Mogens Lykketoft told the Danish tabloid paper Ekstra Bladet.

1. A little over the top

But knowing the Danes, most of them probably just laughed at it. I was just up there on Monday, hadn't been in a few years. They really do generally have a good attitude about most everything.

5. IMO, in America we should have incentives (or a mandate) for people to vote.

The real reasons we vote do not seem to encourage EVERYONE to vote. The percentage of Americans who vote is low and I do
not need to look at the "official statistics" to know this.
The republicans actually pass laws to prevent us (average people) from voting. They know that Americans are
Progressive people who would not support their assault on the people.
To combat further disenfranchisement ALL voter "suppression" "laws," should be repealed as they directly violate a few
constitutional amendments and contradict (eliminate what is left) Democracy.
Maybe a tax refund,a free dinner...anything to get people to vote. The knowledge(?) that voting will help get some actual
average person representation is not very convincing but with EVERYONE voting, we would find out quickly if our votes actually count.

What ever it takes, we have to end this oligarchy. IF voting actually works..viola..the simple (mandated if necessary)process of
doing our civic duty will save us. If not, we (millions to hundreds) will have to use different measures.
BTW, have you watched the documentary on the historical aspects of a dying empire? It is very interesting and historically accurate.
America is in its final stages, which is a very bleak future for our kids and grand kids, very bleak, think of African warlords or the worst scenario you can imagine for our progeny.
The added (very real and deadly) climate change that can end mans survival on this planet makes this an extremely time sensitive proposition.
IF you want to survive and have some freedom and dignity for yourself and future generations, the voting process should be mandated
quickly.

7. Well, one thing they could consider doing......

....since it seems that getting rid of money in politics is undoable at present, is to simply legislate a redirection the of focus of the cash from the politicians over to the people.

Instead of luxury golf outings in Scotland for a few oily characters, they could do free packages of toilet paper or paper towel coupons or all the people. For example: Disney might have to get us to vote for their political choices by giving away movie passes or free vacations to Disney Paris. Or hotel industry lobbyists might have to give away free vacations at Hilton Hotels. Or maybe force that Papa Johns guy to have to pay for employee healthcare AND free pizzas every Wednesday with proof of voter registration card ID.

- Just think of the possibilities! That way the Koch Bros would have to bribe all of us instead of a hand full of political pimps like they do now.

But they weren't portrayed as some kind of crusading heroes. I don't remember them knocking naked women around, either.
