US & Russia: Bipolar Relations? Mickey Kantor and Dr. Jerrold Green Disuss in Moscow Interview

Bipolar Relations? (Michael Kantor & Jerrold Green)

The Ukraine crisis has caused yet another standoff between the U.S. and Russia, and with talk of further sanctions against Russia abounding, a thaw in the relationship doesn't seem to be on the horizon. How can the two sides rekindle a spirit of mutual understanding, and what's needed to solve their grievances in a pragmatic way?

Oksana is joined by former US Secretary of Commerce, Michael Kantor, and Dr Jerrold Green, the President of the Pacific Council on International Policy, to explore these issues.

I thought Kantor's context was that of assuming Putin wants to revive the Cold War. As for Jerrold Green, if he wants to lecture states about LGBT rights, there is plenty of room here in the US, especially in the southeast.

Apparently, comparing Putin to Hitler is a common Western excuse for its political Messianism/democratization. A quick google search yielded Prince Charles making the statement in an aside. And you also have John Kerry advising Putin, "

"You just don't in the 21st century behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on a completely trumped-up pretext,"

But here it is on youtube in Hillary's own words:

He looked very put out during the whole interview. He tried to walk back what she said...but here is the video from you to prove what she said.

And, it's shocking to think that Hillary would accuse a World Leader of being "thin skinned." This is the same tactic John Kerry uses and I wonder where is the dignity of Diplomacy? They sound like the crazy RW'ers like McCain and Graham to think bullying world leaders will get results.

What happened to the tactics of our Great Democratic President, Franklyn Roosevelt who said: "Speak Softly but Carry a Big Stick." With many of our elected leaders these days it seems that they prefer to "Wield the Stick as a Bludgeon" and threaten to Beat the Hell Out of You if you don't go along with what USA wants.

Why is Hillary doing this? Hasn't she already show she's tough when she laughed over Ghadaffi's gruesome death? Why does she need to make these bellicose statements...unless that will be her policy if and when she is elected and she wants to make sure she's going to be a continuing War President. No "thin skinned" world leaders for this Lady...She will show them what toughness is.

Micky Kantor and Clintons are good friends: Kantor's Bio:

Life and career

An advocate of free trade, Kantor, as Trade Representative, led U.S. negotiations that created the World Trade Organization (WTO), such as the Uruguay Round, and North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). His efforts were broadly criticized by organized labor and environmentalists alike, for refusing to consider fundamental worker and environmental health issues in the core agreements. President Clinton later acknowledged the errors of his administration in relegating these key economic concerns to legally weak side agreements, while favoring large business interests in the NAFTA treaty document. "I think it was a mistake. I think it was part of a global trend that was wrong-headed."

Kantor also engaged in organizating the Miami Summit of the Americas and three meetings of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, including the U.S.-hosted First Leaders' Meeting. With the European Commission of the newly formed European Union, he expanded the trans-Atlantic market.

Kantor practices law in the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown,[1]an international law firm based in Chicago. He is also the Co-Chairman of the Pacific Council on International Policy.

Kantor and Clinton are both trying to resurrect the evil empire longing for the resurrection of the Soviet Union. Clinton as much as says that Putin is trying to bring back the Soviet Union at the end of her interview.

I think it is extremely tasteles for Clinton/Kantor/Prince Charles to bring up the Hitler comparison. It speaks to their in my own words 'American chauvinism' which is basically a type of ignorance /ethnocentricity. World War II was extremely costly for the Russians/Soviets (some of whom were Ukrainians) who unlike the US were invaded. Most historians estimate the Russian losses at 27 million compared to 400,000 for the US. The US formal engagement came after Pearl Harbor December (1941)...D-Day occurred two years later, but not before(September 1942-February 1943) the Soviet Union was battling Germany on the Eastern Front in the Battle of Stalingrad a battle that many historians consider to be the turning point of WWII....here is a link to the British website on the subject ....."after its defeat, the German Army was in full retreat"....
