(70,488 posts)After the republicans cut funds for embassy security and then they
scream when something happened ...... No doubt the media will be all
over this story ..... do I need this?

(1,665 posts)That's their MO:
1) Cause a disaster
2) Blame disaster on Democrats
In WI, we have Walker who railed against a billion dollar budget shortfall (and used that to gut workers' rights)......AFTER HE ENACTED A billion dollar tax cut!
Nationally, you noticed Benghazi and now this. Hell, we're seeing it with Iraq and Afghanistan and the economic downturn. Their policies got us into the messes, and now they're trying to pin them on President Obama.
It's a pretty regular occurrence.
Botany
(70,488 posts).... it is all Obama's fault. Sadly, the real story about republicans blocking $$
for vets will not get real press.

(8,200 posts)The Republicans used them a cannon founder in pursuit of oil and then they deny them health care when they come home in with a host of medical and mental problems. It sickens me to think that Cheney and Bush were not tried for their war crimes and torture. I can agree that Bush is not as responsible as Cheney since he is a dimwit, but Cheney is down right evil to his very core. Now Bush's brother is contemplating a run for the presidency and the MSM ignores that he was a member of the PNAC whose members dominated the Bush administration and took us to war.

(2,983 posts)It's funny how they claim to be the party of the military. It's sad how so many of the members of our armed forces actually vote republican. Yes, they might support your funding while you're in the service, but when you're finished? When you've lost an arm or leg in service to your Country and come back home for a well deserved rest? See that smarmy face in the above image? These are the people that are constantly promoting "Guns, Gawd, and freedumb!" But they don't much give a shit about our veterans and what they have sacrificed.
If we can't afford to take care of our veterans, than we certainly can't afford to pay the outrageous salaries of Mr. "Thumbs up!(hisass)" in the image.

(3,172 posts)But not the costs associated with them.
It's very easy to want to profit from building guns, bombs, tanks, and planes. It's a lot less easy to pay for the damage those items cause, either to their intended targets, or the collateral ones that deliver them.
The human race cannot advance until we *ALL* work together for a common good.

(20,776 posts)I hate the REPUBLICAN attitude that if Military Personnel were deployed over seas and came back with an injury or even with PTSD they are NOT ENTITLED to any continuing health care. Republicans believe they should just thank Uncle Sam for the privilege of serving and just Move on. Republicans will WAVE THE FLAG, and beat the drums to war, but once the soldier or sailor is finished there, they are disposable.
NO SIR, THEY ARE NOT!!! We sent them into harms way, and any harm that has come to them, in the way of injury should be treated even if it takes the rest of their life. They served this country, they deserve the best care they can get.

(5,861 posts)I asked this question in the other VA threads.
Is there even money in the budget to treat these waitlisted vets? Whos fault is that? You guessed it.
Now Dems should campaign hard on this, among other things. Or they can wimp out and lose more seats this year. That's always an option.

(23,946 posts)true outrage while covering the faux outrage of Republicans is yet another example of just how liberal they are. And just how damaging they are to real debate, real solutions, all they want is heads to roll and a spectacle to cover.
Only Obama and Democratics are talking solutions, the press and the GOP are busy point fingers, and pointing as far away from their own complicity in the problem, just like they are complicit in not enough funds for embassy security......I sense a pattern.

(1,241 posts)the radio tomorrow morning. It's open mic Friday on the local yokel, wanna be a Hannity, morning hick station, here where I live. I tried a couple of weeks ago about the Bakken oil not lowering prices. I said gas is heading for 4 bucks a gallon this summer and these two wingers immediately started to spin. "WHERE ARE YOU CALLING FROM CALIFORNIA" gas is only $3.21 at Costco on the west end. I said that isn't what I said. So they just kept spinning until time was up. But I will pose the question. "If your radio program is so fair and balanced, why haven't you mentioned the fact that on Feb 27, 2014 the Republicans blocked 24 billion dollars funding for the VA"?? "And while I am at it, why no mention of the Republicans blocking funding for more embassy security"?? Both recommended by the Obama administration. Then they will say well we haven't heard that one, but we will look into it. Then my time will be up. But I will at least be able to open some eyes and ears. Plus I wish I would have jabbed them about Costco being UNION.

(12,882 posts)instead of making hay out of that senate squelch, they (the Dems) are busy going after VA staff because they were devising deceitful ways to cope while not having the support to address things in proper fashion.

(3,527 posts)Boner (I'm not even going to look up the correct spelling) on VPR public radio droning on about how the scandal at veterans affairs should be investigated from the top down. Never any mention about the blocked legislation.
I agree with the above poster; every time the Repukes try to exploit tragedies which THEY helped create every Democratic representative from the president on down should be out there reminding the people of the obstructionist policies of these traitorous hypocritical assholes.
