Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Very well connected in the GOP. This should be fun.

One conflict of interest Pap failed to mention is that when BP came up with the idea of a Class Action settlement is that BP promised the Plaintiff's Steering Committee (PSC), they also created the "Common Benefit Fund," a 600,000,000.00 fund that the PSC will get if the Class Action Settlement goes through to completion. It is a terrible deal for the majority of oil spill victims, but for the PSC, of which Pap's firm is one, they get the attorney's fees from their own clients who they told must take the deal or they would be dropped as a client, plus their cut of the Common Benefit Fund money/bribe. This gives the PSC the motivation to shove this terrible deal down everyone throats while BP plays the victim over it all. The media, fearful of losing BP's ad money, will not report on what is really happening. How many BP commercials do you see on TV right now? Even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is filing Amicus briefs supporting BP's position against American victims. A more corrupt mess than I have ever seen in my 24 years of practicing law!
