Here is a link to the wonderful animation that shows artistically what our enthusiastic young narrator just told us about:

This is the first page on Fibonacci Puzzles. http://www.maths.surrey.ac.uk/hosted-sites/R.Knott/Fibonacci/fibpuzzles.html

Lots of other links at the bottom of that page.

This stuff is memories of another day - Martin Gardner's articles and books back in the '60s and ''70s. Thanks for posting.

That well travelled merchant's son basically introduced our now common counting system.
One very influential thinker.

The study of numbers or the theory of number is the language of nature. Many think mathematics is a connection to the divine continuum, that life force that is the force being with you, a wonderful discussion thread.

Those who study mathematics, science and engineering, physics, chemistry, mechanics, or the quantum science find this series and sequence something to admire or marvel at while using the words elegance and beauty to describe human existence.

Especially the graphical presentation of the Fibonacci sequence, one of Nature's Codes introduces many to the spiral. This is part of, and center stage of the “Basic Theory of Arithmetic”.

The Golden ratio ~ or the Golden Thread….

That is Fibonacci is a key player in the mind of Gauss and Euler that translate through the magnificence of Newton’s Calculus. We find that all number can be reduced to a Fibonacci number, or what many call a “prime number”. That number that manage to baffle humans for all time.

One of the curiosities in applications is that professionals use the Fibonacci sequence for cybernetic encryption, for security encryptions in code that keep data information secret, military or banking, government, or corporations.

The Fibonacci sequence is the very wonderful mathematics that is used by our very own government to spy. It is used by our very own banking system in financial transactions, as in secret derivative trading that is part of the too big to fail new classical profiteers.

We the people are duped into believing the free market fails therefore needing our tax dollars. Yet those with big money, corporate or government officials can operate with influence legal or not, in many instance powerful political people with denial committing treason.

What to do after Edward Snowden introduced we the people to show that “Rabbit Hole”, that hole that multiplies like political rabbits, where politicians scramble around between tea parties, to keep their heads.
