(16,916 posts)because you would be sad and depressed.
Why do we assume that animals and humans would feel the same way about "the wild"? For all we know, living in zoo might be an enormous relief for an animal. Never having to worry about food, water, and shelter might be a blessing. We don't know what the tiger feels, or if it feels anything in this regard at all.

All I'm saying is that we assume animals think of zoo the way we think of jail. That may, or may not be true.
I would say more but it might get me banned.

(16,916 posts)and that makes you feel so enraged that you can barely control your tongue?
Either admitting uncertainty over what animals may--or may not--be thinking frightens you, or you're just jockeying for DU's St Francis of Assisi award.
Lighten up.

(12,804 posts)Granted living in a cage is boring for a tiger and any animal. Don't know if they have a natural enclosure for the tiger to roam and feel more at home with Nature.

(22,666 posts)But money is more important to them. Or, most just don't give a rat about them. We'll soon be living in a world where the ONLY tigers are in captivity. And yes, there are more natural enclosures that can be built for them - with grass, a dunking pool, trees, a shelter, and daily enrichment activities. This place - wherever it is- is not keeping that tiger in a very healthy enclosure - for the tiger. Much better enclosures for them can be built. Most sanctuaries use more natural ones.

(16,916 posts)Tiger started roaring at my daughter while at the Omaha Zoo.
For those interested, this is NOT the main Tiger enclosure...
If you think the Tiger was annoyed, he walked away, pee'd on the wall and then came back and sat in front of my daughter after this video ended...
