1. This is not good. This leaves us with one big party.

That includes the conservatives that left the REpublican Party. Their ideologies, no longer living in the Wacko Party, are alive and well in the Democratic/Centrists Party. This is not good.

Republicans clearly favor the interests of the wealthy while clashing with the interests of non-Christians, women, minorities, and the poor. They have tried their hardest to be an impediment to any real progress in America.
There are still other political parties for conservatives to join besides the GOPhers; we have the Libertarian Party, the Constitution Party, and the National Socialist Movement.

As long as there are racists and religious whack jobs the republicans will be around. We are not getting smarter we are getting dumber and more divided as a nation which suits them.

also, a similar obituary, but a different "victim", in November 2002.

Trust me, the allegedly "liberally-biased media" is polishing the tuRds as we speak ...

People are starting to figure out that Repugnants work directly for the Corporations. There is not one Repug Gov. on the Gulf coast (all are Repugs), that is standing up for their constituents against BP for the harm they have caused with the Gulf oil spill. They have all been bought! In Brazil the government has gone after Chevron bringing criminal charges against Chevron and Trans Ocean for an oil spill there. Their executives cannot leave the country. Here, a Repug congressman demands our President apologize to BP, a foreign corp! No wonder Mike is right.

The words, liberal, union, socialist, public, progressive and Democrat?

So much so that the people who believe in any or all of these things walk on eggshells?

No, they'll just re-brand themselves like they did after the debacle of their sexual hypocrisies an scandals hit the airways and their faithful stayed home.

Instead they doubled down, teaching their lemmings to ignore that and salivate on the really juicy bits, what people may or may not be doing in the privacy of their own homes and bodies. It's worked great for them.

If the Tea Party, Inc. brand goes under, they'll have another to take its place. Maybe they'll just come out in the open and call themselves the Koch Party, or the US Chamber of Commerce Party. The Koch brothers and their ilk have direct support from wing nuts.
