With the Missouri National Guard deployed and a curfew lifted, peaceful demonstrations were underway in Ferguson, Mo., at dusk Monday as the St. Louis suburb prepared for more protests surrounding the police shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed black man.
Earlier Monday, a pathologist for the Brown family said his preliminary autopsy suggested no sign of a struggle in Brown’s death, President Obama said U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. would visit Ferguson on Wednesday, and Holder announced that FBI agents conducted several new interviews in the neighborhood where Brown was killed.
