Returned from a trip around Western Europe for about five weeks. Was impressed with the wind and solar visible as we drove through Spain, Portugal, Italy and Austria; and then we hit Germany. Holy shit!!!

I know they need to break away from their dependency on Russia and other nations that have them over a barrel because they have so little fossil fuel themselves; but people, wake the fuck up!

Germany has Fields of solar farms! Thousands of them, and we're talking bigger than the token set up on this casino. They have tens of thousands of companies with football field size solar on the roofs, and probably hundreds of thousands of private homes with solar panels and solar hot water panels. Those folks have got their shit together!

Realize the government promotes it! The government gave zero interest loans to companies and private homes to install solar. My good friends we stayed with in northern Bavaria SELL back electricity to the power companies, and they are getting profit from their investments. Granted, it's going to take years to break even, but THEY ARE IN VESTING IN RENEWABLE ENERGY while we are sitting on our thumbs and sucking off the fossil fuel industry teet!

We are #1 at nothing but weapons manufacturing! Certainly NOT leading the way on energy exploration. "Pump that oil, boy". We're fucked!

The only way we're going to move renewables ahead in the US is to make people aware we're falling behind. I really wish Obama would come over hear and make one of his speeches calling for investment in renewables against a backdrop of wind turbines! Heck - there are wind turbines in my Grandma's hometown in the the West of Ireland!

USA! USA!

How much do all those concrete blocks and panels weigh? Even though they are evenly distributed, I certainly hope someone did a structural review of the building. And I didn't see any overall wiring, which has to weigh a lot when done. Yes, it looks awesome.
