Protect Arctic Walrus from Shell’s New Drilling Plan!

CNN and PBS Newshour just reported that over 35,000 walrus have come ashore in Point Lay, Alaska due to lack of sea ice. On land, they are often farther from food, and they are very vulnerable to trampling deaths that occur when the walrus are spooked by polar bears, airplanes and people.

Imagine if we added oil spills to this mix.

Yet, Shell has just submitted a larger, noisier and more polluting plan to drill in the walrus’ waters. And we know that with Shell’s record of mishaps and bungles*, they cannot be trusted. To help the walrus, tell President Obama to keep America’s Arctic Ocean safe from Shell! Sign the petition!
