Stephen Harper and Aussie PM John Howard give SAME SPEECH

(At the time) Canadian Opposition Leader Stephen Harper and Australian Prime Mninister John Howard gave almost identical speeches word-for-word a couple of days apart on the eve of the Iraq invasion in 2003.

It's BS and a dishonest edit. These sentences refer to resolutions and a very specific situation, so of course they're going to be similar. So what? Some massive Star Chamber conspiracy?

Who wrote the speech for two different politicians on two different continents, and how did they transmit it? What is the power behind this conspiracy? Who secretly rules the world?

6. It's not a conspiracy theory. Bushco lied about WMD, torture, Saddam's links to Al Qaeda etc. etc.

They're known facts.

As for the video, someone in the Bush administration probably wrote the speech for these two stooges.

10. any proof that the Aussie PM is a "stooge" and that Bush admin writes his speeches?

Also, does that mean Bush is the leader of the conspiracy, or someone else? (Or does Bush still run it from his house in Texas?)

11. A "conspiracy" just means a secret criminal plan. Justifying the Iraq invasion based on lies

was a "conspiracy".

Stephen Harper and Tony Abbott (the new Aussie PM) are neocon stooges because they spout RW talking points. That's just my opinion. You may agree or disagree but probably many on DU would agree with that point of view.

As for Bush, he's retired now and painting portraits of dogs and whatever else he finds interesting.

More than likely the PM, Harper, heard it, decided he liked it, and took it for himself.
He actually believed, back over a decade ago when this speech was given, we, Canadians, were too stupid to find out he'd swiped it.
We caught it right away, and gave hims looks of derision for six months.
Then he just buried it in a whole lot of other bad crap he's done, and we've pret' nearly forgotten about his speech writing techniques.

Got to say tho', DU is not inspiring anything but derision from Canadians for resurrecting this old dead piece of fish. Harper has done a lot worse things, more recently, than this.

If they're going to attract Canadian subscribers, they might want to get current on Canadian affairs.

Come on people, this is over ten years old news. We already know our PM is a plagiarist.
How about reporting on something more urgent that he's doing now, like snubbing his nose at our Vets, selling our country to China, snubbing the leader of our biggest province, or playing BFF with Mr. Netanyahu?

They do that to divert the discussion away from the original subject.

I take it they don't want you questioning why two puppets from vastly different countries are reading some the same script.

One does wonder how something like that could occur. And, it's certainly not a CT to question how.
