(16,646 posts)One wonders how things might have turned out if he and Baucus were this nice with the single payer folks.

(12,882 posts)That's what we see with the three branches of government. This video gives warm fuzzies. Next tho, we'll hear Boehner or Turtle or Cruz go on about how the ACA is destroying jobs and blah-blah-blah... and blah-blah-blah
HERE is what we need... We need Obama, a number of ACA recipients such as these that are at this conference, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and a few other GOP luminaries - ALL around this table at the same time! Lights on, microphones tactically placed and cameras able to see the faces of everyone in attendance.
Then, with all assembled and cameras rolling, Obama makes his case as he has here. Then we turn to the GOP reps and demand that they look straight at the recipients while they explain why these folks should not have the care they're getting from the ACA. They don't get off the hook with the BS sound byte that Obamacare is a "job killer" - they have to DETAIL what they mean by that whilst looking those cancer survivors eye-to-eye.
This shit where the president makes a statement and then the GOPers release counter-statements over and over and over.... it's just WASTED taxpayer money. The superfluous pomp and "civility" is drowning the very bodies we hope to save us! Hell, I'd rather see a donnybrook break out on the capitol - like we've seen in some of the old eastern bloc or African nation's parliaments - than the tripe we're fed everyday as it currently is.
