TYT: You Won't Believe Where Anti-Vaxxers Get Their Information

"As the vaccination wars continue to escalate, a new study suggests that trusted doctors and experts may be no match for the loud and often inaccurate wisdom of Internet commenters.

In a first-of-its kind experiment, researchers at Washington State University have shown that people tend to be persuaded less by credible pro- and anti-vaccination information published online than by individual users who hang around in comments threads on the topic kicking up dust.

The findings, which will appear in an upcoming Journal of Advertising, underscore the powerful influence of information disseminated by word of mouth. Moreover, they offer a striking insight into the ability of the anti-vaccination movement to flourish despite mounting outrage and overwhelming scientific evidence that supports vaccination."

You have a small group of loons who are constantly parroting out debunked bullshit demanding everyone else disprove screwy arguments that were never proven to begin with.

With right wingers and nut-jobs constantly coming out with new lies and propaganda there aren't enough hours in the day to constantly debunk all of them. As the saying goes "A lie can travel around the world in the time it takes the truth to put it's pants on".

Yes there is distrust of governmental boards due to pay-to-play DC and the revolving door that puts money and profits before the public good. There is absolutely no reason to believe experts on health committees are any less human than those paid experts on other committees. Vaccination is so safe that the manufacturers refused to make it unless they are immune from liability. Now that the government assumes all liability, science is claimed to be in, and it is completely safe.

There is no reason to believe the CDC is any less corrupt than the FDA, NIH, EPA, etc.

Yet we find other nations do not allow the same guidelines as the US because their doctors don't see the cocktail of vaccines as being safe.

Regardless the video makes a good point, in that we shouldn't be forming decisions based on what a few talking head journalist say.

Every year we get this epic vaccine pan-epidemic hysteria. Much of this seems to have escalated after Sec of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld got the government to stockpile Tamiful (remember the bird flu virus, that was going to kill all of us?). Tamiflu developed by a company Rumsfeld was on the board of.
