(TYT) One year ago today: Liz Wahl quits RT live on air. TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT!

Good interview with Laurence O'Donnell where she says:

"Because it's becoming increasingly more difficult to justify (Putin's) actions, they've been upping the propaganda war here..." RT is "a tool to promote Putinist propaganda...the American people should know the truth..." &quot RT is) hostile towards the West...I cannot morally be a part of this network promoting the foreign policy of a dictator...telling outright lies"

How Cold War-Hungry Neocons Stage Managed RT Anchor Liz Wahl’s Resignation
Posted on Mar 19, 2014

The “Freedom selfie” from James Kirchick’s Twitter feed.

By Max Blumenthal and Rania Khalek

"Behind the coverage of Wahl’s dramatic protest, a cadre of neoconservatives was celebrating a public relations coup. Desperate to revive the Cold War, head off further cuts to the defense budget and restore the legitimacy they lost in the ruins of Iraq, the tightknit group of neoconservative writers and stewards had opened up a new PR front through Wahl’s resignation. And they succeeded with no shortage of help from an ossified media establishment struggling to maintain credibility in an increasingly anarchic online news environment. With isolated skeptics branded as useful idiots for Putin, the scene has been kept clean of neoconservative fingerprints, obscuring their interest in Wahl’s resignation and the broader push to deepen tensions with Russia.

Through interviews with six current RT employees—all Americans with no particular affection for Russian President Vladimir Putin or his policies—and an investigation into the political forces managing the spectacle, a story has emerged that stands in stark contrast to the one advanced by Wahl, her supporters and the mainstream American press.

It is the story, according to former colleagues, of an apolitical, deeply disgruntled employee seeking an exit strategy from a job where, sources say, she was disciplined for unprofessional behavior and had been demoted. Wahl did not return several voice and text messages sent to her cellphone.

At the center of the intrigue is a young neoconservative writer and activist who helped craft Wahl’s strategy and exploit her resignation to propel the agenda of a powerful pro-war lobby in Washington.

The story began at 5:07 p.m. Eastern time on March 5.

PR From PNAC 2.0

It was a full 19 minutes before Wahl resigned. Inside the offices of the Foreign Policy Initiative, a neoconservative think tank in Washington D.C., a staffer logged on to the group’s Twitter account to announce the following:"

Don't you ever feel just a little bit chagrined posting things like this?

& speaking of Russia, which one of Putin's fascist policies and actions do you think is the worst?

The MSM is no longer a media where people can get an honest view of issues. I have always been concerned about the media promoting war narratives, but in the case of Ukraine I happened to know the region and was shocked at how heavy and dishonest the narrative is. So I took an interest.

That site I posted from is a solidly liberal progressive site. Many people see through the narratives that are used to forward the interest of corporations and the military industrial complex.

The Nation Magazine is a propaganda outlet? I will take them over your "reporting"
any day. They are a solid investigative progressive organization.

It doesn't matter where you get some of your Putin-supporting articles. It wouldn't matter if you got them from whitehouse.gov. You are posting a huge amount of Putin-supporting posts, but claiming to not support the Putin.

So your post gets:

I've asked you many times before to tell us what you think of Putin, since you claim, ridiculously given your posts, not to support him. But you say nothing.

Another chance! Tell us! Don't forget
-the anti-gay laws and demonizing gays
-the deaths and imprisonment of journalists
-the deaths and imprisonment of liberals and opposition figures
-the dismantling of the independent media
-the "Nashi" Kremlin & crony sponsored Putin Youth of who harass & beat Putin opponents & those resisting shakedowns
-the talk of "New Russia" as part Russia expanding by taking over other countries
-the lies that Russia does not have soldiers in Ukraine
-Putin's theft of millions of roubles, starting with food aid money while St. Petersburg starved in the 1990s
-the neo-nazi gangs that terrorize gays, liberals, judges and journalists--and that has been tied to Putin's advisor

I'll be glad to provide links to any of these. Here's one, while we're waiting.

My Country right or wrong, this poster proposes drives me nuts also. I see your Point. Charity begins at home, so does truth. Another quote I like is: "How can you remove a splinter from your brothers eye while all along you have this mote in yours." Some people are hopeless.

Putin is everything you say he is, but that doesn't make a neoconservative virtuous if he calls Putin a tyrants and makes up a story out of whole cloth to prove the point.

Also, to assert that American MSM is not accurate in their reporting about Putin is a far cry from embracing him. Calling it anti-Putin propaganda doesn't necessarily imply that there's nothing wrong with what Putin is doing. Would one be a Nazi for pointing out that the jig Hitler did in front of the railway car as he took France's surrender in 1940 was a product of trick cinematography?
