(81,304 posts)Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhh... let's dig down into that and see...
Hmmm... let's see how much of the bush/cheney mess has finally been cleared up? Let's see... the unemployment numbers keep dropping. What? We're down into the FIVE-PERCENT levels? Wages are rising - slowly, but the trend is now going up, not down. Even at fucking Walmart. Consumer confidence is back up. The deficit is cut by two thirds. He got us out of the TRILLION-DOLLAR level of debt. In six years. With all kinds of dead weight attached, and hurdles and piles of dogshit and other obstacles pushed into his way, and blocking and obstructing everything in sight.
Yep, sure sounds like a whole boatload of "failed policies" to me...

(67,782 posts)....another (although maybe frowned upon around here) is the performance of the DJIA:
Under Clinton it more than doubled (+225%)
Under bush it dropped by 25%
Under Obama it has increased by another 225%
Clinton 3300 to 10,600
bush 10,600 to 8,100
Obama 8,100 to 18,000
Along with what you pointed out, he got us out of TWO wars (although maybe another is brewing) and we have the ACA.
We need more failures like this.

Six years of Obama: 7.8 million new jobs.
Twelve years of Bush and Bush: 3.9 million new jobs.
Huh.

(25,111 posts)Per month? Seems the GOPers have memory lost.
Also, Pres O is asking companies to raise the wages. Not too many are doing it, and Red States are trying to eliminate the Unions (which are regrouping).

These guys wouldn't know truth or honesty if it was attached to their private part by the teeth. To them those terms mean that whatever BS they dream up is their truth so it has to be truth to everyone and they'll force that on you if they have to.

(23,946 posts)The American Mass Media are clearly part of the problem, because they WANT to be part of the problem, bought and paid for by tsunami of never ending election season cash and ad money in torrents.....nothing they say I believe any longer. Nothing.
The media wants to cover the crazy, to cover war, to cover insanity and madness, to cover up for the rapidly improving and likely booming economy.
Notice the shift from economy to foreign affairs just when the economy is no longer useful for whipping Obama with? How the shift is to Cover the Crazy, Avoid The Economy Bear the Drums of War (again)....no clicks on good news...
Utterly useless and dangerous media capitulation to Greed.

(9,895 posts)I CONSTANTLY hear right wing talking points spat out as gospel truth - Benghazi was the worst thing EVER....Economic polices of Obama have failed....ACA = tyranny because people are allowed to live instead of just accepting their fate and dying....ANOTHER war in the middle east is the ONLY way to stop ISIS.
And then we see abject evidence that even watered down liberalism produces results that far outstrip those of the trickle down corporatists and republicans hyperventilate about and it gets glossed over...the media has already decided to skip the last two years of the Obama presidency in favor of a 21+ month presidential campaign and so instead of objectively presenting the FACTS to the American public, we will get to see the Republicans lie and obfuscate and the Democrats back pedal and run away from Obama instead of recognizing that he took a mess that was gifted to him by Shrub and Co. and despite failing to live up to my own unattainable standards as President, he made the entire mess of 2 wars and a broken, free-falling economy go away.
Now we will see the SCOTUS gut the ACA, the GOP run Koch brother inspired and funded hate films and the Democratic party splinter over the Clintons (again...as if we learned nothing at all from the other trysts with them)...meet the new boss indeed.

(14,565 posts)IF Romney had been elected and unemployment was a 6%, it would be WILDLY hailed.
He would be roundly labeled an economic genius, something EVERY republican would be babbling about, media people would be gushing over and democrats would be conceding.
Meanwhile, in the reality that it has gotten to that point, and better, under a democrat leaves no mention, NONE, to his credit, merely the "cooking the books" and "just does not feel good" bullshit republicans, media merilly chasing every stupid ass non-story the republicans throw out, and democrats cowering in a corner.
Until this dynamic changes - primarily democrats being cowardly, directionless, worthless blobs, we (this country) can't win.
