Teacher tells Christie "You need to tone it down a little if you want to become President..."

Watch a Kindergarten Teacher Ask Chris Christie to ‘Tone It Down’

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has a notoriously confrontational style, getting in public fights with reporters and average people, even telling some of them to shut up. Well, during a town hall yesterday, a kindergarten teacher spoke up to ask Christie to maybe stop doing that so much.

Cheryl Meyer told Christie that it’s hard for her to talk to her students and her own children about their governor saying such things. She said, “You need to tone it down a little if you want to become President of the United States.”

Christie explained that he sometimes regrets getting tough with people, and acknowledged “differences of opinion on people’s style,” but at the same time, he says those things because he wants to be authentic.

The governor said he doesn’t want to just say “the blandest, most vanilla thing” he can think of, and rejects the idea that when you’re a public figure being pressed in a confrontational way, “you have to respond politely.”

...it's pretty much "ingrained behavior" by now.

He'd have to want the Oval Office more than he wants to be a dick and I just don't see that happening. Or, he could suffer a crushing defeat, go away for four years, come back a "kinder and gentler" version of himself, and try again. Don't see that happening either.

Could you just imagine if Obama behaved the way that Christie does??? He would be labelled "the bully, thuggish black president!" No one would have put up with it, but when a white guy does it, it's A-OK!

Chris Christie is still a jerk, ask the families that are still waiting for relief from Sandy if he is really cares, and this teacher wants him to tone it down.

Ask the taxpayers why they are in debt to the tune of 3 billion dollars while he got tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires in the state.

Ask the taxpayers why the state is 45th in job creation---right up there with old Scott Walker.

Ask the pensioners why one of his buddies and there firms which are now managing the pension funds are charging the pensioners fees for the services being rendered.

And now he goes on NJPTV and the host and him over a bowl of spaghetti are talking about his rudeness, and the host asks him why he doesn't tone it down, he should have asked why don't you resign-------instead of soft pedaling this---this governor that likes to tell people

"sit down and shut up"

"saying the blandest, most vanilla thing" vs. being rude, contemptuous, and bullying people into submission.

Seems like there's a middle ground there, somewhere. Christie is a rude, offensive, oaf!
