This has nothing to do about security. it's all about control of the rabble.

cause and requiring specific information. Law enforcement can get what they wan through that process and a judge will enforce a subpoena or warrant and jail someone who does not cooperate for contempt.

What more does the government want and why?

It is quite easy to get a warrant or subpoena for internet records, phone records, etc.

Why does our government have such contempt for our Constitution and our Bill of Rights?

If the Bill of Rights and the warrant/subpoena processes can be overridden, simple as they are, why should we not override the entire Constitution? Does any of the Constitution mean anything if the FBI and the NSA and who knows who else just violate the parts of the Constitution that they find inconvenient?

And this is a matter of inconvenience, of filling out paperwork and submitting it to a judge. There is nothing more to it than that.

Is our own government in contempt of the Constitution?
