(9,865 posts)I can't stand it when already extremely rich actors, with established careers, use their name and talent to sell products. I refer especially to those with the intelligence and education to know what corporations are doing to us and to the world. Have just lost a lot of respect for him.

It was a very simple, wonderful ad. I'm not going to buy the product, because I'm not swayed by ads like this. But it is a nice reminder that I should take some quiet time for myself whenever possible.
My respect for him is unchanged.

(9,865 posts)YeahI don't do so well with multimillionaire artists who use their famous names to sell products.
But it's classy of you to turn my comments which were issue based to a personal insult.

(21,925 posts)I like that Kevin Spacey ad with the lady mountain climber where at the end he jumps off the cliff and glides though the air. As much as I like Kevin Spacey as an actor, I won't buy a Renault as I don't buy nor have any new cars. My newest car is a 1973 Saab. I have a 1961 Renault 4cv, a great little four-door car with the suicide doors in front and plenty of interior space for a micro car. It weighs about 400 lbs., less than a VW bug and has great gas mileage.

I don't even own a car - for financial reasons and ecological ones.
I've not seen the ad you mention. It must run only in American markets.

(3,741 posts)My first car was a Renault .... remember the, "Le Car"? That was a piece of junk - fun to drive, when I could get it to work! Never, ever again, will I ever, buy a Renault, even if they passed them out for free (maintenance was too high).
