Related: About this forumFlashback: Christie mocks reporters for looking into bridge closure
Following today's indictments, Christie is pretending he was outraged by the closure and immediately tried to set things right.
His reaction to the first questions into the matter tells a different story.
From December 2013:
TRENTON Its not like he was working the traffic cones.
That was Gov. Chris Christies reaction today when he was asked about speculation that he engineered the closing of lanes from Fort Lee to the George Washington Bridge as political retribution.
I worked the cones. Unbeknownst to anyone, I was working the cones, Christie joked during a Statehouse news conference.
Some believe the closures were orchestrated by someone loyal to Christie inside the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey because the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee didnt endorse Christie for governor.
Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-Middlesex) last week subpoenaed the Port Authoritys executive director, Patrick Foye, to testify about the September access lane closures, and state Sen. Richard Codey (D-Essex) asked the agency's inspector general to look into it. State Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) has also questioned the lack of answers from the Port Authority.

(70,504 posts).... about the bridge closing.
Alan Zegas, David Wildstein's attorney, reiterated today that Gov. Chris Christie knew about the George Washington Bridge lane closures that led to the Bridgegate scandal.
Christie "knew of the lane closures as they occurred" and "evidence exists" that proves it, Zegas said after his client pleaded guilty, although he did not say that Christie knew about the motive for the lane closures.

(6,699 posts)This is what the reich wingers find "statesmanlike". They loves them so idiot with a loud mouth that can shout down hecklers, voices of descent, anyone who might question his actions; this is "their mann". Worthless trash. This is why this country is so damned fucked up. People ACTUALLY respect and admire trash like this jerk off, sarah palin, gohmert pile, michelle bachmann, ted cruz, steve king, and ALL the other reich winger empti-headed loud mouths on the other side of the aisle of sanity.
We are fook'd; and I honestly don't think we are ever going to turn this ship around. We just have to deal with reality and accept the foul stench of stupidity that has run across the country since the beginning of our ethnic cleansing of "from sea to shining sea". It will never get better so long as "stupid" is idolized.
