I cried in the first two minutes. Ignorance the source of our greatest suffering, especially when it comes from heartless families.

Under the comments on Youtube, someone posted the parents name and phone number. Not sure that is a good idea. Still, this mother and father have to be THE WORST PARENTS EVER! They probably think they are good Christians, but they are vile monsters. To cause so much pain to their dead son and his lover is just beyond words.

How unbelievably painful it must be for him to have lost his partner so suddenly - and then, on top of it all, to be treated so horribly by his partner's family. I was just dumbfounded that they actually threatened him with violence if he were to attend the funeral. WTF is wrong with some people? They call themselves Christians, too. Where does all that hate come from?

He was threatened with violence if he attended the funeral HE PAID FOR! He not only paid for the funeral but he paid to have the body flown back with his mother. I would not be surprised to see his family try and sue for their sons part of the business and the home they shared.

...My friend's partner worked for the United Nations. In August of 2003, he went on assignment to Iraq. His first full day there, August 19, 2003, the U.N. headquarters, located at the Canal Hotel in Baghdad, was bombed and he was killed. His homophobic family -- his father was a prominent GOP politician in a northwestern state -- from whom he had been estranged for many years, completely shut my friend out of any funeral services and allowed him no part in settling his partner's estate. They even tried to contest (and were partially, but not completely successful in doing so) a life insurance policy on which my friend had been named a beneficiary. What they put my good friend through was just unbelievably cruel.

the 60 percent who voted for Amendment One last night in NC should watch this. Although they would probably applaud his parents and make them out to be heroes.

I'm bumping this in hopes others can see it and pass it along. Hearing our President support marriage equality and then watching this, well it's a no brainer. I sent this to a few family members who do not believe in marriage equality and still have not heard back from them.
