(41,131 posts)The song still gives me chills! It was co-written by Motown great Marvin Gaye, released in 1964 and immediately went to the top of the charts. I love the song's inclusion of Detroit as 'Don't Forget the Motor City'.
Martha Reeves said, it's a party song that makes you want to get up and dance! She was right!

(41,131 posts)music. Seeing the tremendously gifted lead singer Martha Reeves and the other members of the group singing and performing together is much more enjoyable and special than watching young twisters as they dance to a song. Just my opinion.
