It's a hard show to watch sometimes but it's thought provoking and jolts the senses a bit. I didn't read the book, in fact I had never heard of it until recently. Admittedly, I probably won't read the book. I recommend this show for everyone, especially students. If I was a professor, I'd require my students to read or watch for sure.
