Watch This Navy Admiral Destroy Ted Cruz's Climate Myths

Ted Cruz is certain that global warming stopped 18 years ago. He said that repeatedly during a Senate hearing he chaired Tuesday afternoon devoted to examining what he described as "the science behind claims of global warming." Satellite data, insisted Cruz, shows that "there has been no significant global warming for the past 18 years."

... to explain science to those incapable or unwilling to understand it.

Piss off, Cruz.

3. The worst thing about him is he likes to debate.

He couldn't give a shit if he is correct or not. He would happily defend the proposition that the sky is yellow, and condescendingly tell you that the blue you see is incorrect.

They weren't actually saying it was yellow- just that it wasn't actually blue.

5. I thought an admiral might talk about the Arctic Ocean becoming navigable for surface ships.

When I was in grade school, they used to talk about explorers from the 1400s through 1900s seeking the Northwest Passage through the Arctic to shorten trade routes between Europe and East Asia. But ice always blocked the way. Since 2007, ships have been able to sail through open water without the need of icebreakers on some days of the year. And any year now, probably next September, we will get word of ALL the ice in the Arctic Ocean melting away, and no multi-year ice remaining.
