Not one member of the GOP establishment said word one when Trump was sending "his men"
to Hawaii to see if President Obama was a "real American." Fox, Rush, the Tea Baggers, and
so on made this Trump Monster and now they know it will kill 'em. Oh well.

Creating fear and loathing of our President. Convincing the ignorant and fearful that our country was on the brink of ruin, despite thr real facts. Saying things like our military is weak.

Well now they've got their "savior".

... and from the clip I heard on the radio the crowd went nuts on that lie.

Their "savior" will crush the GOP.. A GOP Rep. on Trump.

Rep. Scott Rigell (R-Va.) emailed supporters Tuesday and said he refuses to back someone "so lacking in the judgement, temperament and character needed to be our nation's commander-in-chief.

It is certainly entertaining to watch, but I'm not sure how happy I am about it. I have lived through some horrid presidents who got elected. A lot of people tend to vote against their own self interest. No one ever went broke underestimating the stupidity of the American people.

Whether we can encourage defections to liberal/progressive candidates

or

For voting en-mass for democratic candidates down the ballot to sweep these motherfking obstructionist repbulis and Tea Party turds out.

One or both of those futures are in our hands.

Did CNN poll the Democrats also? And we have terrible turnout, but the Repub turnout is high so that 48% is going to beat us. Thanks DNC, DWS and the Dem party for doing almost no GOTV!!!

Democrats had great turnout for the primaries in 1988 when Dukakis won the nomination, but he lost in a landslide to the uninspiring George H.W. Bush.

Add to that:
1. Almost no GOTV is occuring, which has never happened in my 38 years as a Democrat;
2. A significant part of the turnout for 1 candidate is Independents, whose votes are tied to the candidate, so if their candidate doesn't make it to the GE, their vote is a toss up again, and
3. since FDR, no party has retained the presidency for more than 2 terms in a row. Turnout is already depressed as it is in those years. ETA: Regan/Bush is the 1 exception-has not happened with the Dems though, even if Gore came close.

Our down-ticket candidates will also be slaughtered due to low turnout.

Reagan won in 1980 and 1984, Bush won in 1988. All Republicans.

Clinton won in 1992 and 1996, and Gore technically won in 2000. All Democrats.

Ike likely would have won in 1960 if he had run again (not sure when the 2 term limit was passed?) and Clinton would have won again in 2000 if he were eligible to run again.

I was at a rally last Sunday and got to see Bill Clinton speak. He was talking about getting the grass roots groups out knocking on doors and getting people registered.

Afterward, I got to shake his hand and thank him for coming out.
When he shook my hand he looked me in the eyes and said,"It's really my pleasure to be here." HAH! I got to speak to President Bill Clinton! It was so cool that he looked right at me and spoke to me. I know I sound like a teenage girl, but I was thrilled.

This is more than an opportunity, this is a wide open door for the Democratic Party to enact a revolution. With these numbers, the White House is for sure Blue as is the Senate, and the House is in play as are a number of governorships.

Donald Trump. Actually, Newt is the father of Donald' candidacy, as a result of forcing out Minority House Leader Bod Michel and taking his place. He prevented the inclusion of automatic debt ceiling rise in the budget bills, which gave the Repugs the ability to fight to close the government every year. His nasty partisanship led to the continual increase in tension with the DEMs. Thanks, Newt -- you may have likely killed the GOP as you knew it.

If he's the nominee, of course, that's the point, he wins.

If he's not the nominee, he's invigorated an enormous amount of people who he will probably ask to remain invigorated through to the G.E., where they can sway state elections, adding more democratic representation to the house and senate, and Bernie wins there too. Now he's a powerful voice in that establishment, with the votes to author and pass progressive bills, something Mitch McConnell is blocking at every step.
