Related: About this forumEstablishment Dems Desperate To Support Wall Street Darling Patrick Murphy Over Alan Grayson
In a year full of emphasis on progressive values, its hard to imagine why establishment Democrats would put their support and cash behind a barely-Democrat candidate who is owned part and parcel by Wall Street. But that is exactly what the party will get if they continue to support Rep. Patrick Murphy over progressive rep. Alan Grayson in the Florida Senate primary race. The choice is simple: corrupt business-as-usual, or a strong, progressive Senator?

(1,499 posts)But can't tell from ad hominem comments like "He's a loudmouth" and "[her] makes us look bad."
I can't choose a candidate based on personal attacks. Most of the people who can are in Cleveland right now.
Maybe if you would provide, say, five examples when Alan Grayson "made us look bad."
Thank you in advance.

(1,499 posts)I just don't think we should be choosing (or rejecting) a candidate based on an argument like "I know something you don't know."
Casting votes based on unidentified, nebulous fears also appears to be popular in Cleveland.

(2,570 posts)what do you expect given the ideological leanings and efforts of the dem nominee?
Hasn't fear of the Tramp made you forget all that yet? lol

(2,570 posts)that's hardly cause for you bearing false witness against those long aware of it, like charging that I am now or have ever contended that the tramp is the lesser of two evils.

(44,124 posts)You recc'd an article from the Moonie Times and you recc'ed Google CT's.
As I understand it, you can still go back and remove those recs if you no longer believe that the Moonie Times is credible and Google is not part of a some secret plot. We all make mistakes.
Take care and have a nice day.

(2,570 posts)with your functional equivalent to an "are you still beating you wife?" effort here.
There are few things funnier than someone employing tactics like that doing so in the course of a failed impeaching the witness effort.
Thanks for the laugh as well as the aforementioned tacit concession.

(4,762 posts)And her money is mostly in the US. We have seen her tax returns and she pays taxes on it.
Also she does not actively manage investments while legislating.
So not a funny as you think.
Grayson is also a sexist boorish pig who could be our Donald Trump if he wasn't quite as creepy.

(3,982 posts)Because if this is your yardstick then you would feel that way about Kerry as well.
While I think we eventually have to get to a balance of democrats that represent both progressive positions and look more like the common population: I will take people like Grayson over a wall street candidate who will represent the values of the 1%.

(12,882 posts)While it wasn't easy, I weaned myself off of a place where common sense can get you in hot water. Get in line - let folks TELL you who to cheer for and who to demonize. Never mind the above TPP ad - think not about Grayson's in-their-face moments (for Republicans) on the floor of the House, forget about the good things he's done in his official capacity. The EVIL Grayson refuses to fall in line behind those bought for us to dutifully vote for. The guy slurps his soup, had toenail fungus, has gobs of personal money and won't turn it over to the DNC. Get a clue!

(15 posts)It's hard to find any Democrat who holds national office these days who isn't a neo-dem - the ideology of the DLC and their pitbull, Bill Clinton, instituted over 25 yrs ago. Cater to the money, feign opposition, but cut deals that undermine the working poor, unions, and progressive ideals. Hope for the best - Bernie Sanders (well, now disappointingly, Hilary) - but prepare for the worst - Dumpster Trump. The DNC should just move its HQ to Wall Street and register a satellite office off K Street, in DC - it's basically become a lobbyist group for them, anyway.
