Bill Maher and panel: David Frum, Jennifer Granholm, Martin Short (full)

"When you reach a point, like we have after 20 years, where everything is so politicized that Republicans are going to impeach the person before she's gotten into office, what's the chant, 'Lock her up!'? Now they're saying 'Execute her!' You've gotten to the point of the way Rwanda was in the 90s when The Other is such vermin, like what Hitler called the Jews and the Slavs, that when you take power you're doing God's work by eliminating your enemies -- that's where we are."

It doesn't seem real that we have come to this point as a nation. I watched that Bill Maher episode and was boggled by that. Although I shouldn't be surprised. Those chants have been occurring throughout the election. I am just so worn out with this election.

This was one of the best Real Time panel segments that I've ever seen. Very powerful words from Bill Maher. Hopefully it motivated viewers to take the election seriously and to vote to defeat fascism on November 8th.

This panel, all Canadian born, is very much like the panels you see on CBC or CTV.

in that Trump is a gigantic "FUCK YOU" to the party establishment. Part of that was being told to sit down and shut up in 2012 when they had the "electable" Romney shoved down their throats instead of a religious nut like Santorum or some far right teabagger nutbar. The leadership had to know they weren't going to be that obedient again but they blew it completely in the intervening 4 years by fighting against every single thing people need and want just so Obama couldn't take credit.

Congress overreached and the party power structure vastly underestimated the amount of rage and what it could do to this country.

I still have hope that Clinton will take this. However, this isn't the last Trump we're going to face.

The pubbie was wrong about one thing: we didn't get more immigrants, we got fewer, especially from Mexico. Despite the warfare between narco gangs, their economy has improved a great deal. Mexicans have been going home since the crash of 2008 killed off all the construction jobs so many had relied on.

Nobody on the panel called out Frum when he tiptoed around 35 years of Hate Wing media rhetoric.
Expected more from Bill on that front.

to be even better without all the interrupting of each other.

The guy on the left had a point and Bill kept missing it.

Dump is there because it is so cool to doubt the system.
